Interior Plastering in Nelson: Common Questions
The things people ask us before they book a plasterer.
What levels of stopping do you do?
All of them, from level 1 to level 5. Level 4 is the standard finish for most rooms with ordinary lighting and flat or low-sheen paint. Level 5 is recommended where there is critical lighting, large windows or skylights, or where darker colours and gloss or semi-gloss paints are being used. We will tell you which one each room needs - see our article on Level 4 versus Level 5.
Can you give me a price from plans?
Yes. We can provide estimates or solutions to your plastering requirements, whether you require a visit or a price based on plans. For a new build, send the plans through and we will price from them; for a renovation or a repair we will usually come and look.
Do you do new builds and renovations?
Both. We provide interior plastering solutions to new and existing jobs, working with homeowners, builders and architects. That covers new plaster work, renovations, full plaster skims, and plaster repairs and maintenance, along with cove, square stop and negative detailing.
